What Ladeworks is
Ladeworks moves data between your tools without code. It pulls records from one place, reshapes them, and sends them somewhere else. A workflow can run on a schedule, when a file lands, when a webhook is called, or when you click Run.
Four things to know
- Integrations. A saved, tested connection to a REST API or to a file server (SFTP, FTPS or FTP). Ladeworks encrypts the login details and shows only the last few characters after you save them.
- Endpoints. The specific things an integration offers: an API operation such as GET /orders, or a folder such as /outbound/. Each endpoint lists its fields.
- Workflows. A pipeline of steps that gets data, shapes it and sends it. A new workflow starts off, so nothing runs until you turn it on.
- Runs. Every time a workflow runs. A run shows what was pulled, sent and skipped, why a row was skipped, and the exact request and response.
APIs are REST only for now.
An example
Northwind Logistics connects an API called Northwind Orders. It has two endpoints, GET /orders to get orders and POST /shipments to create shipments. A workflow named Nightly order export gets the orders and saves them as a CSV every day at 2:00 AM. Each night's export is one run.
The screenshots in these docs come from that workspace, which is on the Pro plan.
What starts a workflow
- A schedule. Daily, weekly, hourly or every few minutes. How often depends on the plan: Starter as often as every 5 minutes, Pro and Business every minute. On Starter, Pro and Business.
- Run now. Start it by hand from the Workflows page or from the workflow itself. On Free, workflows run this way only.
- When a file lands. A new file appears in a file server folder. On Pro and Business.
- When a webhook is called. Another system calls the workflow's webhook address. On Pro and Business.
Who it is for
People in operations and technical business roles at small and mid-size companies who join SaaS tools and partner file drops together. You should be comfortable with what an API is. You do not need to write or host any code.
Plans
Every plan has unlimited members. Free includes 1 integration, 1 workflow and 100 API calls a month. These docs describe Pro, which includes 5 integrations, 20 workflows and 50,000 API calls a month. When a feature needs Pro, the page says so. See Pricing for every plan.
